Without my awareness and confirmation continuously got charged money by this company for no reason at all. Think twice when providing them with your card details before you get illegally charged.

Misleading, unfair and possibly fraudulent

Do NOT trust 1Rebel. My experience as a 19-year-old student was a nightmare - and I want to warn others before they lose hundreds like I did.

- In November 2024, I joined 1Rebel after being told I could buy 10 sessions for £144 - with no mention of a long-term contract. I followed the instructions and paid. I attended 6 sessions and that should have been the end of it.

- In March 2025, I bought a further 10 sessions for £220. Then, without any authorisation, 1Rebel charged that card £144 four times - a total of £720 in just two days - for a '12-month contract' that I was never told about, that I never agreed to and that I never signed.

- When I complained in person I was told I was supposedly entering into a 12 month contract - something I never saw, signed or agreed to. We were never notified in advance of the recurring charges and they charged a completely different card to the one used for the original purchase.

What is happening now?
It has been almost 4 months and I still have not received my money back. There has been 1 phone call and 12 emails between me and 1Rebel and still no resolution. No refund and no compensation.

All my complaints against 1Rebel have been either ignored or misrepresented:

- I claimed it was against the Consumer Rights Act to make bulk transactions if the transactions were to be made monthly - 1Rebel said it was probably because my card was not working during those months (my card was working, it is the only card I use in my day to day life)

- I claimed that when I purchased what I didn't know was a membership there was no warning about the cancellation policy and refund policy. - 1Rebel sent me screenshots claiming there were warnings about the policy, I went on my phone, my laptop, through the website and the app to check if this was true and it was not, STILL there were no warnings.

- I was told I shouldn't have any questions as it was all in the T&Cs. - The only time I saw these T&Cs was when I created a 1Rebel account... in 2023!!!!!!! If you are forcing people to sign a contract for 12 months you should at least have some warning that it is a trap and you can't cancel until the contract is fulfilled.

I am still trying to fight for justice and my rights... Avoid 1Rebel at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They trap customers in hidden contracts, charge unauthorised fees, and ignore your rights. There are much better, more ethical fitness providers in London.

I have heard a lot of similar cases lately and am now collecting them to prepare a class action lawsuit and complaint to the consumer protection regulators. If you have encountered such violations, please comment on this review and together we will retain our rights and demand compensation.

I hadn’t stepped foot inside a class like Reshape (HIIT with treadmills and weights) before a year ago, and now I’m a regular at 1Rebel and my fitness is transformed. I go to Reshape at least once a week, and to reformer when I can. I love the classes - the energy you get from the music and lights, along with the enthusiastic and well-prepared trainers is unparalleled. The changing facilities and small details like the chilled face towels also really make you feel like you’re getting value for money. Although I mostly go to Angel, the flexibility of being able to go to multiple locations is also fantastic as I get the same quality experience no matter which studio I go to.

Great experience! Reformer Pilates in 1Rebel is top notch and the best that I’ve had over the years in various studios!

Reformer: Each teacher is different in terms of their schedule for the class and what you train with them, but they're all super friendly, helpful and know what they're doing. Depending on your preferences, some classes are thus easier and some harder. love it!

Overall great experience and classes. Sometimes changing rooms aren’t SUPER clean and some staff at the till can be a bit unfriendly.

The only thing that gets me to exercise

1rebel has become like a second home to me. I never knew I could enjoy fitness as much as I now do! I have genuinely never had a bad class. Reshape and Rumble are my poison and I recommend these classes to everyone I know. I’ve been in the UK, Dubai and Oz. All have been equally satisfying!!

It’s more than exercise. It’s a community. And there’s not many brands I’m as passionate about as I am 1 Rebel.

I go to Reshape classes at various studios at least 1-2 a week. And I love it. 1Rebel has got the formula for these classes just right and 45 minutes goes by in a flash.
It is the only type of class I have consistently been motivated to do. If you haven’t already tried it, I highly recommend!
It improves fitness and muscle tone in an intense but very enjoyable way.

I recently started taking the Reshape classes and I’m obsessed. I’ve been to a few 1Rebel studios and they’re all super clean, with really motivating instructors. The vibe is always so welcoming, and the classes make working out enjoyable.

First time at this gym and I had a great experience! The staff was welcoming, the space was clean, and the equipment was easy to use. Looking forward to coming back!

Predatory subscription practices making it purposefully difficult to know what you are agreeing to. Cant believe they operate like this. I agree with comment below: " it is immoral practice, especially when signing into a contract is done with a click of a button. This sort of business model is disgusting and illegal in a lot of countries." Shame on them.

Honestly, I took a package with this company for 3 sessions.

I had issue with two sessions, they are not explaining the things properly and either the condition on their website.

I just needed to move my session and on the website it’s not writing that they take your money and don’t take the class few hours before.

I’m not happy I called the club to explain that nothing was writing on the website when you wanna modify and the lady on the phone keeps telling me she can’t do nothing about it instead of trying to help me and book an another session. A part of saying that it’s on the terms and conditions it’s not writing at all.

I’m not happy at all, and the class are more harder for beginner anyway, the teacher are not really explaining well I did cycle and treadmill hit and it was very difficult in despite of asking them if beginner can go.

It was waisting money and I won’t book anything over there.

I recommend instead Cycle at Notting Hill.

I’ve done quite a few classes here now, and while there’s definitely a slick vibe, I have noticed that the reformers aren’t quite the same quality as other studios I’ve been to. There is something quite awkward about where the ropes hang over the shoulder rests amongst other things that can make the workout more clunky. If enjoy a workout that feels more like a nightclub, this could be a great fit. I started coming after Frame in Victoria closed, and I do find myself missing the quieter atmosphere there—it really allowed the instructors to share their expertise in a different way.

It was a terrible situation with the subscription, they charged me for a year, that is, £539. When I noticed this on the card, they argued that I had agreed to it. But I just attended one class with them. So be careful, because this company is literally a shazai, who charge you money and then are not ready to return it. It's very unprofessional and disappointing.

I’m just out of my third reformer Pilates class here after going to 1Rebel for years but always going to Reshape. Wow, FANTASTIC. I’m not someone who finds working out easy but the instructor made it so fun & the class flew by in a hot minute. Always a welcoming atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend.

I absolutely love coming here. The classes are honestly so much fun, it feels like being in a nightclub than at the gym, with the lights, the music, and the energy in the room. But you still get a great and challenging workout that leaves you feeling amazing afterwards. Everyone, from the front of house to the trainers are so lovely and welcoming. A really encouraging atmosphere where everyone’s doing their best and cheering each other on. The instructors push you in the right way, and there’s always the option to go at your own pace. It’s the first time I’ve actually looked forward to exercising. Thank you to all at 1Rebel

I can’t speak highly enough of 1Rebel. The facilities are amazing, and staff welcoming. The classes are brilliant, pushing me to train my best whilst also being supportive. I did one boxing class wearing an air boot due to an injury and the trainer adapted it for me and let me go at my own pace. Highly recommend!
