I had Corel VideoStudio 2020 (VS 2020) on my Windows 11 laptop and it was functioning beautifully. I wanted to upgrade to VideoStudio 2023 (VS 2023) so I downloaded the required program. I was unaware that VS 2020 had become "Legacy" software and (as I found out when it was too late) should have been uninstalled prior to installing VS 2023. At the time I wanted to retain VS 2020 so I went ahead and installed VS 2023 whilst VS 2020 was still on my system. That installation caused a host of problems which resulted in my having to uninstall BOTH VS 2020 and VS 2023 AND I am now UNABLE to re-install VS 2020 at all. Despite this serious and complicated issue, Corel Technical Service only operated via email exchange and that made the issue impossible to resolve.
As a result, through a lack of information provided by Corel, I now cannot use the VS 2020 that I had purchased some 2-3 years ago, because Corel have classified it as "Legacy" and due to that "fact", there is NOTHING I can do to re-install that software.
Corel will not compensate me for the loss in ability to use the VS 2020 that I had legitimately purchased.

Het programma loopt regelmatig vast. Heeft heel veel tijd nodig om data in werkbalk te zetten. Na rendering lopen video's na ongeveer 25 minuten vast. Spijt dat ik het programma heb gekocht en niet eerder op trustpilot heb gekeken.

I bought this video editor to help with my business. Adobe Premiere is too expensive,e and I just needed something I could use to create some short videos with. Conservatively speaking, this is a frustrating piece of software. It's like it just decides to loose it's mind after doing... well nothing. I click somewhere, like on the transitions, it won't bring that up; I can't click on anything else to switch to different options; elements on the video can't be moved; I can't edit the timeline; and I've had to do a hard reset of my system just to get the app to close. Then, to reset everything and lose all my preferences, I have to rename the "Ulead Systems" directory, so the next time I launch Corel it will rebuild that folder. I've had to do that six times now!

I find this software to be severely lacking on the engineering side to create it. At best it's frustrating to use. I've been a Corel supporter for many decades, going way back to the first versions of Word Perfect and Paintshop Pro. I'd love to stick with Corel if they could get their act together and make things stable. But for now, I'll only use this when I have to and I'll start shopping around for something else.

The software is really unreliable. It crashes and even destroys already saved files. In particular the sound editing is miserable. Editing is sometimes not reversible. In the middle of an editing process the software might suddenly make all sound distorted. All sound clips then needs to be deleted, re-loaded and re-edited from start. Editing even a small video project might take hours or days due to all extra work caused by all the bugs in the software.

Absolute garbage. I don't know why I keep falling for the New Versions, maybe because I'm familiar with their interface and don't know what else I can use. Every time I have a weird problem and report it, they say that I must be using the wrong "type" of that particular video type (which only has one type). The program is always crashing, locking up, and even has trouble loading its own menus. I have been using this software since it was ULEAD. It used to be pretty good. The latest version is the worst I have ever seen it. It is completely unreliable. It has problems with even the most basic common video types. I wish someone could recommend a good alternative, cuz I am more than ready to Jump Ship.

The program does the unforgivable: after many hours of editing, it will have problems rendering, or it will start to crash all the time. Because I've mastered the program, I did not want to learn another but I will have to. I will no longer start another project in Vegas Pro, I am fed up with it. If you're new to editing, invest your time wisely and learn another one.

I bought the 2021 version of Video Studio Pro in some kind of promotion and I find that it is the worst video editing product I have ever had the opportunity to use. The program crashes every few tens of seconds no matter what I try to do. Unsaved changes are lost. It is impossible to use this software. Checking for updates does not work either.

Product does not install correctly thowing files all over the place. Files installed under MyDocuments which no idea if used by application or not. Program doesn't run ((opens then immediately closes) On another machine application keeps freezing or crashing as reported by other users. Tried a few times to resolve but seems no easy solution. Corel should address this and make sure customers get software that functions (even if that means providing a more recent /reliable version to replace faulty version) otherwise take it off the market. The issues in my book are totally unacceptable = Recommend avoiding this product based on my experience.
Still not been able to install and use this product - do not waste your money and time!

Keeps freezing... crashes out... if you are lucky to get as far as publishing a movie, then everything can stopped at 99 percent... and I am using a Windows laptop with Intel Ultra 7 and 32GB memory.

Bunch of Crooks they say upgrade for £24.95 when you get to the check out it becomes £107.00

Bought the program not realising there are so many add on costs! So the basics were basic. Every time you use the program, you get adverts to buy something extra! Eventually I decided to buy the add-on ‘Ultimate Bundle’. This is an absolute scam. I have received nothing and cannot get any help despite contacting 5 times! I get separate email fobbing me off & all denying they know nothing. I have all the email trail & support ‘numbers’. I am totally frustrated & will take further action to get a refund. Do not trust them under any circumstances. Absolutely NOT worth even considering!

I been using Corel Video Studio for years and have always found no sooner you have upgraded a new one is released not long after with a few extra bits added.
What I'm not happy with in the 2022 version is that now the screen capture camera is now called the lite version.
No way am I paying for the full capture screen which was part of video studio package in previous releases.
Yes it still captures fine on the lite version at the current time I'm not interested in 4k.
HD is fine.
But something this software gets a lot of flack for is the bugs..
Not everyone is going to have a pleasent experience with Video Studio, you have spent maybe 2 hours on your project without saving it when all of a sudden the program crashes without warning.
Well you should get into saving your project at short intervals.
A lot of problems are usually either software conflicts, anti-virus software, wrong codecs Installed or no codecs Installed at all.
Unless your on a superfast PC no browsers should be left open or running of other programs, when using Video Studio. So limit other programs running.
I'm not going to put any links but a search Of K-lite codec pack just might fix problems running Video Studio on some PC's.

Before running Video Studio make sure all temp files clear run a clean on your PC so you starting with a clean board everytime you run Video Studio.
Much of the problems people encounter with this program is more to do with the computer they are running it on.
Even when installing the program from scratch, do not touch anything when the program is installing, Just follow the instructions and leave alone.
Any program in its initial stages will encounter bugs, make sure you download the updates when available as these will or might fix what problems you might be having.
A lot of problems I have had with Video Studio over the years has been nothing to do with the program and I consider myself a pro with well over twenty years of experience using it.
Thats why I am adding this here because the fixes I have outlined above have been some of the culprits to some very strange problems I have had.
The tracking of objects does need some work doing with it as it does not always track perfectly.
Gets on my nerves because using Adobe After Effects its a breeze to track motion but the Corel Video Studio version needs a re-think.
OK update Corel Video Studio appears to have sold up shop but I have a complaint about their software.
Corel Video Studio 2020 used totally fine until one day it started throwing up errors in the render, Frame 124 is unreadable..
Yes Ok just as well not bother tell me as it doesn't give you any indication what frame and what file? absolutely frustrating.
So upgraded to 2023 everything going ok and now again this problem has surfaced, in a new system.
Checked Codecs converted files all to no avail.
Got in touch with the techs at Video Studio and problem solved.

I have/had 2021 and decided to upgrade. I needed support as it just kept saying no internet which was wrong. I've never come across such bad support with only being able to communicate with one solution a day, as though they were reading from a book. In the end, I asked for a refund and they tried to get me to go to support but I had spent so much time trying to get the upgrade to work I ask for a refund and to go back to 2021. The damage was done and I couldn't go back as it kept saying the same thing as installing 2022. I gave up and bought something else, big shame really customer service is crap and that's important to any software user.

Should have Zero Stars, I bought this because there were one or 2 good reviews around and it allowed multicamera editing at a reasonable price. the software is littered with bugs especially when trying to do multicamera edits. I have been in contact with support whose Indian customer support centre blamed all sorts of things such my computer updates not beinng most recent (not true), that working from my own local dropbox folder was causing issue because it was in the cloud (also not true). I finally managed to contact Canada. the seemed like they were helping, but as Identified more bugs they decided to close the support ticket. I have wasted hours trying to get sensible edits out of this software and very little to show for it. It is now time to bin this software and look for an alternative.

What an amazing company.
I used ULead studio 8 years ago and loved the software and then came back to them to find there now corel videostudios.
the software is just amazing and does everything i need and more. it's also super fast and easy to use which is great.
My work computer broke and i lost everything, contacted them and within a few minutes they sent me a new link to re-download the software once i get my new computer. i can't say enough about how great and how much of a life saver they have been.

Yesterday, Trustpilot still had a lot of reviews of VideoStudio9. They all disappeared (after I warned Corel that I would review its program....)
Like those other reviewers I had a bad experience with VideoStudio9, fortunately a trial version.
At several occasions (at least 5 times during 2 days of trial) the editor simply stoped and kicked me out. You're back at Windows. Fortunately, the project is saved at regular intervals, so you can continue working.
The real problems started while attempting to export the project onto a DVD: the menu maker freezes together with the entire program, the only escape being Task Manager. This was a perfectly repeatable behavior of VideoStudio: restarting the program, restarting Windows, checking the project with Corel's "Multi Trim Tool": nothing worked, the same freezing.

The customer service was clearly inexperienced, I was asked to provide them with a WinAudit scan of my computer. I refused and told them so, since such scan is an absolutely horrifying attack on your privacy, which I don't want to share with anyone let even Corel. And I pointed out that the crashes had very little to do with my (desktop) computer, since exactly the same freezing happened with my laptop.

From that moment onwards I did not get any reply from customer service.
Corel's VideoStudio is an unstable product. I removed it from my computer(s). Lots of work in vain. I would not recommend anyone to use or buy it. I wish I had read other TestPilot reviews before downloading the trial version, that had saved me a lot of efforts. I'm now trying "Filmora", and my initial experiences are OK though some reviewers had issues with Wondershare too.
