Customer service has declined :(
Been a long time customer and used to get friends and family to sign up. Never had an issue with customer service in the 25+ years with them. I got their insiders mc thru a promo at the end of 2024. I looked out for the annual fee in 2025 and noticed it was credited. I thought it must be for being such a long time customer and I also signed up for their home and auto insurance. Well I noticed online there was a recent correction and I was charged $120 for the annual fee. I called yesterday, I asked about it and said I do not want to pay $120 and I'd like to go back to the no fee MC. I was downgraded then transferred to another agent who seemed like she wanted to help at first but kept wanting to put me on a 2 min hold. Each time she returned she didn't have good news and before she hung up on me or I was conveniently disconnected, she told me it was an error, I should not have been credited, I did not have the promo and there is a 30 day policy to get refunded so the $120 charged is now non refundable. She said I was not the only client this happened to. I said this is an PC financial issue/mistake and not the customer, I just found out the charge and it was 10 days ago. Shouldn't the 30 days apply when I get charged? I wanted her to clarify and she started to raise her voice so I raised mine, I was in total confusion because I just downgraded my card and had I known I wouldn't be getting my $120 back, I would have possibly reconsidered and cancelled at the end of this year.
I think she hung up on me. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say the call got disconnected.
I called again and calmly asked to speak to a manager, the agent requested that she try to help me first, patiently heard my whole story. Then tried to reach a supervisor twice. Couldn't connect to anyone and told me I would get a call back within 24 business hours.
I think PC needs to go back to being better at customer service. My first agent needs to be trained that if there's a strict 30 day policy, the client should be made aware of it before downgrading the card and cancelling insiders before the end of the term, clearly state the annual fee will not be returned which is beyond unacceptable when it was reversed at the time of renewal.
The second agent could use overall more training, be more compassionate, and have the ability to see the exception of the situation. Perhaps the first agent needed to transfer me to the retention department because she was NOT it, she made me want to cancel and burn my card.
I have yet to hear from a supervisor, I hope to have this resolved and I would be happy with an apology and partial refund or full refund. If the call leaves a bad taste in my mouth I will just cancel it as much as I like collecting extra optimum points, I can do without.
I no longer will be referring friends and family to PC financial for their mastercard. I even had a poor experience with their home and auto insurance and switched to different company They've lost my trust. So disappointed.
This place is rediculous
This place is rediculous. I opened a bank account then they decided to create a credit line, then shortly after locked me out of all my accounts then after several months of calling and fighting I had to get a lawyer involved. Don’t ever bank with this crappy company

Do not bank with PC Financial! Ive been speaking to multiple reps from 5pm to 1030pm. I tried sending my landlord $2100 for my rent and it said I reached my limit. I contacted PC for a temp increase so I could send it but they said they can't, but did say I have $1615 available for the day to send e transfers and $1500 available for atm withdrawals. So I sent myself $1600 from my PC account to my other email. Well that was a mistake, I got an error that I've exceeded my limit even though I was told I had $1615 remaining but yet PC still took out my $1600! Not only did they take it out my account 3 customer service reps have no idea what happened, they can see it wasn't processed but said they cannot give me back the money,they have no option to cancel it nor do I and they cant do anything until I speak with their interact department and even then it can take 48 hours to get my money back. So now im out $1600 and I cant pay my rent on time now and PC pretty much said "not my problem, sorry". Please stray from banking with PC.
Horrific Customer Service
I paid off (or so I thought) and closed my PC Mastercard about 5 years ago, got rid of the physical card and deleted it as a "Payee" on my banking app. Fast forward to now: they started relentlessly calling me about a remaining balance of $68.57. This is annoying only because I have no access to my account, nor do I know the 16-digit card number. The first person I spoke with said they'd waive the remaining balance for me. Then, they called again and said that guy was mistaken and they "don't do that". All this time, they refuse to tell me the card number over the phone. Mind you, ALL I WANT TO DO is pay the balance. They have me update my address and say they'll mail me a statement, which will show the entire card number. Statement arrives, DOES NOT show the card number, so I have to call them, AGAIN. This time, the guy says he found a statement that does show the card number, but it's old (from December), so "is it okay if we charge you a $10 fee to be sent this statement?" WHY WOULD THAT BE OKAY? I've been trying to pay this $68.57 balance for a month now; I am NOT paying you people ten more of my dollars. They ended up waiving the fee, but we'll see when this statement arrives if it does show the entire card number. This company preys on young people in grocery stores to sign up for their card... DO NOT do it. Worst credit card experience I've ever had.
Lousy customer service
I decided to take out some CASH on my PC MASTERCARD.
This is not something I would normally do.
My card got blocked, I do not hold this against them.
However, when I tried to contact the normal CUSTOMER SERVICE # I got the same message. “We are sorry, we are experiencing higher than normal call volumes, please go online and use chat.”
The chatbox is ridiculous.
I tried at least 6 times to contact them and got the same message.
So I decided to turn the tables. I sent them a complaint email. This is what it said.
I need your help and have tried to contact you several times, if I don’t hear back from you in a reasonable amount of time, I will cancel my account.
After 2 days NO response, I sent another email complaint asking that my account be closed.
The next day they called me and asked me why I was closing. I said because of their lousy customer service. They closed the account.

Funds withdrawn from my account twice; released from supplier; 17 days to get the funds in my account.
I bought airline tickets from my bank account so I wouldn't have to use credit. That started an absolute nightmare. I bought them through Selloffvacations.com. I booked them on Apr 29, 2026. $1610.42 - the price of 2 tickets - came out of my account on a pending status. On May 1, Delta took $1610.42 as a "booked" status. Selloff sent a release for the original $1610.42 to PC. After several calls of very long wait times and being cut off twice, I reached Miriam in the Fraud Department, who told me they normally do not release the funds for 12 business days. This means that Day 1 is April 30, and they will hold my $1610 until MAY 15!!! For NO REASON what-so-ever. Who can afford to pay for flights twice and have that money held for a total of SEVENTEEN DAYS? Customer Service is awful - they won't do anything for you - you ask to speak with a Supervisor, they put you on hold forever, and then say the Supervisor is busy. You can't speak with a teller. I only opened this account so I could get PC points for bank transactions, but I swear, it is not worth it. Thank God I still have my RBC account. I will deal with them from now on and take my son out of PC, as well as friends that I had recommended this bank to.
Difficult to trust
I was approved for the card, but it took me a week or two to validate myself so they cancelled it which affected my credit score. Customer service basically just said "meh too bad, cant help ya there bud"

I had the misfortune of needing to file a dispute for $5700 from a merchant who used unfair trade practices to dupe me as a consumer. Not once was I on kept 'on hold' less than 2 hrs with the PC Mastercard disputes dept. and their staffer was nothing short of a bonehead who closed my file without phoning or otherwise contacting me at all, after asking me to send a link to the merchant Terms and Conditions - and then I sent in each page photographed from their website--and despite my never having received them or a purchase receipt and despite my having submitted merchant's email agreement to refund my Mastercard in full-- but then who delayed another six weeks, until I informed them of the transaction having been a blatant unfair duping of me and other consumers-- and then they jumped. Meantime PC Master did NOTHING other than to disregard all information I provided them as they requested. They didn't investigate after 20 days waiting period as advertised and I had to prod staffers for help with every status update phone call I made - 6 in all. Many in the dept. don't seem to speak a lot of English and it was arduous and difficult to have their assistance despite being a 30yr customer and keeping a zero balance each month since. That customers are made to wait 2 hrs deliberately as an incentive to using their potentially risky online self-service alternative instead is obvious as a tactic to avoid proper customer service. Ironically they used to be v. good in as recent as 2016 when I also had to file a smaller dispute and they actually came through. Disappointed to say the least.

By the way I got thru to customer service after 1hr 33 minutes and thankfully my card was not used only for 5$ transaction by whoever found my card. So this is the worst I can imagine when it come to customer service. Someone who lost or whose card is stolen, should be given some priority so he can cancel the card before more damage is done. I am locked out of my PC Optimum…
I am locked out of my PC Optimum account only because I have a new phone number and my verification code goes to my old phone number. I have been trying to rectify this for over a month now. 5 calls to customer service waiting an hour each time to speak to someone to be promised I will get an email in 24-48 hours and nothing ever comes. Last call I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told no. Then promised a supervisor would call me within 48 hours. That was 4 days ago now. This customer service is absolutely appalling. ALL I NEED TO DO IS CHANGE MY PHONE NUMBER.

Your service is rotten I am paying money towards my bill and it’s being stolen. My bill is not going down I destroyed my PC Card never ever want to shit card again. I am frustrated because no one is answering the phones for hours ridiculous
Incompetent staff
The staff working at PCF and PC Optimum are the most incompetent staff I have ever spoken with .....(examples) they can't speak proper basic English; they can't comprehend basic English; they are not able to problem solve even the simplest issue; they are not able to resolve issues on a timely basis given the information from their incompetent staff; they won't explain to you information that can resolve issues on the spot; they input false information to prolong your case or make the customers so frustrated that you want to give up, roll over and take the results they want you to take; they lie through their teeth about wanting to help customers........
The bottom line is........THIS IS THE MOST INCOMPETENT RUN SO CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT I have ever encountered with any credit card company.
This company has excellent rewards points offers but they do not stand behind the customers to resolve ANY ISSUES, instead they purposely frustrate you and take your points and ignore fraud purchases in order for them to come ahead.
The fraud department personnel is another issue where they cannot and do not know how to investigate fraud cases. I feel this company was once great but now I will never use their card again due to such utter incompetence.
Simply the best
Jed coulld not have been more helpful. He listened to an account of my circumstances and what I wanted to achieve. He then gave related advice in the form of possible options. There was no pressure. I felt respected and in control. It was the same on both occasions when I approached him on different matters. When I chose what to do the team carried it through and Jed gave clear guidance on my choices. I have had IFAs before and this service put them in the shade. It was customer friendly and efficient, actually worth 5+ stars!
