If I could give them a big fat zero I…

If I could give them a big fat zero I would, null points. I have had no water for 4 days after a leak and have gone through Axa my insurance company to try to resolve this. Why they use metro plumbing I have no idea as reading the reviews there is a common theme here. Their awful voice over states they will give you peace of mind, I would like to give them a piece of my mind!

Useless can’t fix a simple toilet leak

We had the misfortune of having metro plumb called out by our home emergency provider for what should have been a pretty straightforward leak - the first plumber attended and said it was an issue with a waste pipe and that it had simply worked lose. The following day noticed the leak was still there so called them back out again - second plumber arrived and said he could see the waste actually had damage so needed replacing - that was replaced and the leak was still there so a further part was replaced. Plumber then said there was a further leak on the waste ( which he had replaced ) and that he couldn’t repair it. After he left I sorted it myself with some sealant.

A few days later noticed that the leak was still there so called them out for the third time - a third different plumber attended and said it was a big job and he didn’t have time!! Fast forward to today and we have waited in all day for a plumber to be told he now can’t get here.

Have now got another local competent plumber to sort out this bunch of cowboys mess !

Avoid at all costs as they don’t know what they are doing !

Excellent Customer Service and…

Excellent Customer Service and experienced and knowledgeable engineers. Great support provided by Nicole Trigg from the customer service team.

Excellent communication and the team were very responsive and kept me updated.

I would highly recommend Metro Plumb 😊

If I could give them no stars I would.
Left immunosuppressed with a full on huge water leak for this rude lazy plumber who sat outside the house for 20minutes before coming in, to take one look and say we cannot touch flex pipes! This was through a home insurance company with a call out to a vulnerable adult and they couldn’t and wouldn’t even stop the running water.
I even had to put up with the fact the man’s flies were open, he was rude, brash and walked around the house like he owned it, I had to follow him as he went to the door as we have pets that don’t go out and he let himself out and said bye then. All of this is on a house cameras.
He never wanted to do the job and I’m guessing as it’s 5pm he rang his colleague and then said we cannot touch a flexible tap pipe ( because that’s far too complex for a plumber) and then left. Even after us saying what do we… as we need water as I’m immunosuppressed the plumber said I know I read in the notes and walked out!
As two women, one immunosuppressed with an active kitchen flood stay well away from metro plumber in Manchester they are cowboys and clearly don’t care about vulnerable people or women.
Thinking of taking this further as we have footage.
But first the insurance company are sending a real plumber to stop the flood and fix the problem.
Stay clear everyone!

Our bathroom tap "went home"

Our bathroom tap "went home", we couldn't stop the stream of water so contacted our insurance company. They contacted Metro Plumb and Craig arrived this afternoon. He was a delight. Craig sorted the problem and thanks to him, everything is hunky dory. Craig is a plumber we would be so happy to see again if the need ever arises.

Poor communication

MetroPlumb were reserved from our emergency home insurance due to the shower leaking into the ceiling. MetroPlumb accepted the job and said they’d come before 5pm. Received communication from them they were enroute and coming by 3pm. At 3:10 they messaged saying they were not coming and cancelled the job saying they had no availability until Saturday - so why accept the job and then tell us you’re on the way? However when the insurance company contacted us they had closed our claim saying that MetroPlumb had stated we no longer needed any work when they never came in the first place and cancelled on us without ever speaking to us? So still left with a broken shower and back of the queue again for emergency home cover. Will also be letting know the insurance company know.

I strongly advise against using this…


I strongly advise against using this company based on my personal experience. They initially quoted £95 per hour but attempted to charge for three hours despite only being on-site for approximately eight minutes, which I have documented on camera. They also insisted on the need for an asbestos survey after a cursory inspection of the floor, which seemed unnecessary.

Following this, they sent an asbestos engineer, significantly increasing the costs by sending another representative, resulting in further charges at £95 per hour on top of the asbestos-related fees. Once we questioned these charges, the bill was inflated by an additional 20%, and it was implied that the initial prices were exclusive of VAT, despite being residential customers.

After disputing the bill, the company escalated the matter to a debt collection agency, claiming there was no comunication for the failure to pay. I perceive their practices as opportunistic and potentially exploitative. This is my honest opinion and assessment of my experience with this company. Proceed with caution. My experience is receive an attempt to extort £570 from me for an asbestos test that I believe to be invalid cause the engineer used his dirty screwdriver he most likely uses to stab everything

No confidence in Metro Plumb

Contacted Metro Plumb and explained the problem requiring a leaking Salamander RP100 whole house pump leaking. After five days of Q&A with the allocated plumber could not get a price for the replacement Pump or labour costs to change it out. Felt like being strung along as unable to get any confirmed appointment date either.
Within 15 mins I ordered a Pump with next day delivery and contacted another company who confirmed fitting price and date to do the work!
Lost any trust or confidence in Metro Plumb being a competent company please be aware.

Leaking toilet

My toilet was leaking and Leah came and sorted the problem out for me. She was very efficient and explained to me what the problem was and what she had done to rectify it. I was very impressed with her.

Metro plumb Canterbury were meant to…

Metro plumb Canterbury were meant to have fixed a leaking tap under my sink through my home emergency insurance .
Discovered last month after finding black mould that the sink had not been fixed and had been leaking for months They admitted liability and blamed an engineer no appology and informed me that I should had complained months ago but unfortunately I did not have a crystal ball then that it was not fixed .
So Do not use, unless you have a crystal ball.
I have now had to submit a complaint to my home emergency for damage and poor

Excellent professional workmanship

Mike was our engineer, he was very knowledgeable polite and did a very professional job, I would highly recommend Metro plumbing. I could not fault the service, I don’t think you could gat a more professional service at such reasonable and fair prices. Mike is an excellent engineer and credit to the company.

Exemplary service!

We needed a tap on our kitchen sink repaired through our Landlord (Bromford) and they called in Metro Rod to do the work for us. Having been given an initial date, we were delighted when Metro Rod informed us that they would be moving our appointment forward by two weeks. Metro Rod's Technician Lee arrived early on the day and what a credit to the company he is. He dealt with the repair very quickly and efficiently and more than went the extra mile to ensure that we were sorted out and completely satisfied. We cannot praise his professionalism enough and his friendly approach and skills were nothing short of exemplary in every way. We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Lee and the team at Metro Rod for looking after us so well. Many thanks! Unreservedly and highly recommended in every way, and a pleasure to deal with from start to finish.

Fantastic

Fast , Efficient , Friendly service
I rung as we'd been let down by another company .
Georgia who answered the phone was lovely and able to send someone out within 40 mins .
Sean and Gaz arrived on time , always a good sign .
Assessed the problem quickly , nipped out for some parts and the whole job was completed within 2 hrs of me ringing them
Fantastic , my broken loo looks new ...
Would definitely commend them

I have recently had a new boiler…

I have recently had a new boiler fitted, I work a very busy job, and I couldn’t have asked for better people and service. From the first contact I was kept updated and I had a lovely girl who rang me on the day as promised, arrived on time, Leah was very knowledgeable and gave me some very useful tips as well as fitting my boiler, Leah cleaned up as she went along and left the rooms probably cleaner than it was, such a lovely girl and really knew her stuff, I would recommend Metro, thanks to them I’m in a nice and warm home again,
