One year ago, our restaurant joined them and this year they sold their business to just-eat but they refused to give the money back what they grab for joining or setup fee(and their agent completely liar, everyone talking differently than each other)

I apologise for any inconvenience our upcoming closure may cause you or your business, we can understand this may be upsetting.

I would like to ensure you that we are not partaking in any illegal activity in this case. When we were purchased by Just Eat, we were not aware that they would take these steps. However, please be aware that the decision to unify the two brands will be a positive experience for your restaurant. We have been working closely with Just Eat over the last few months to migrate our customer base over to their platform. After May 22nd, if a customer comes to hungryhouse to place an order to your restaurant, they will be advised to do so through Just Eat's platform instead. Over the coming weeks, you will see a decline in hungryhouse orders, but a rise in Just Eat orders.

In regards to the joining fee and setup fee, I would be more than happy to give you a call personally and talk you through this. If you would be so kind as to send over the details of your restaurant, I will follow this up for you.

We take any food hygiene issues to do with our partner restaurants very seriously. All restaurants must provide us with an up to date rating from the Food Standards Agency in order to take orders through hungryhouse. If any restaurant is not above a certain grade, they are removed from the platform until this is improved. Our dedicated Restaurant Operations department monitor this to ensure our restaurants are held to a high standard.

If there is ever a case of suspected food poisoning, we advise our customers to make contact with the FSA as soon as possible by following this link: http://www.food.gov.uk/enforcement/report-problem. The FSA are an independent governmental body who are responsible for monitoring the food quality of all restaurants and takeaways in the UK, and they are therefore better equipped to investigate issues like these further.

Serious claims like these must be investigated by the Food Standards Authority. They will be in touch with the restaurant to assess whether they meet the health and safety standards and they have the right to take action against the restaurant if they fail to meet standards.

I would be happy to investigate this for you if you could provide me with your order number.

Very sad they are closing soon

I had no personal web site for my restaurant. But thinking of making a site for online ordering. At this moment got invitation from Hungry House and joined with them. After few weeks I noticed that my business started to boost through online order by Hungry House. Still it's going well. Very sad to see they are closing soon.

Got takeaway from baltimasters in Kenton Newcastle upon Tyne horrid meal just tasteless poor quality Indian meal the barji was a joke the chicken tikka was bland the Kashmiri the chicken was tasteless sauce ok rices were stone cold and not of quality
Everything on the mixed grill just looked overdied with food colour but was tasteless
Sorry just not going to bother again
I’m a qualified chef and I know a good meal when it’s on a plate it just wasn’t tasty at all tried it won’t be back the only good thing was they had polite driver

Bad- unacceptable experience

Bad- unacceptable experience, unreasonable and rude conduct. Thats the right description of the fraudsters. They will just pick your pocket no different to a “pick pocket”. Avoid online cons. No complaints department, you’ll be just laughed at. Reporting the matter to ombudsman following court process.

No, it is not, nor will be the litigation from me v hungry house as representatives of the food providers on which I will write separately. Scumbag robbing company

Today I had deal with the notorious poor customer service of hungry house! Ordered my food late last night of my card and waited a hour before ringing up. No one picked up, no one came, so I waited till the morning to ring hungry house as it was around 3am by then. The customer service guy told me the restaurant apparently came and that they wouldn’t give me a refund without looking into it further. They are crooks they know they can refund the money as they hold it 15 days. After running around finding this out from the restaurant and given an apology I called up back and finally got my refund processed after they kept me on hold for 20 minutes. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING SKETCHY CHEAP BEHAVIOR. Never ordering from them again.

When there are any issues whether it be non delivery or food quality we do need to speak with the restaurant to find out what exactly has happened, especially as we don't want these issues to be a regular occurrence. Once we speak with them though we are able to get that refunded for you, depending on your bank it can take 3-5 working days.

Poor service by far

My order never came yet that’s been the second time this has happened to me I’m tired of this I’m relying on people who can’t deliver this this not a place for customer service like I’ve paid in “advance” via Apple Pay and got a Chinese’s said they where open cool so I’ve ordered this about 11:10 and to be waiting and realising that my order definitely isn’t coming untill 12:40 and then I’m left with poor food choices i called the restaurant no answer what so ever I keep calling them I had to rely on them because I had no food in the house then I called hungry house they said they will call the restaurant on my behalf and they replied to hungry house saying that they went there and ringed me knowing I have had no calls I heard no door nocks for all I know they could be making this up i mean if you showed up at least leave my food next to the door or something so I know you showed up and I can’t complain... I’m tried off this I want my money back simple no games no In store credit like last time hungry house im not spending decent money on takeaway to get mugged off and not see it back ASAP I’m a regular customer but I don’t think I will be anymore I’m sticking to phone calls

My first order and my LAST!

My first order.
Ordered at 12.50 delivery promised by 13.46
Call from restaurant at 14.10 to say the driver hadn't turned up and if I want my food I'll have to come and collect it!
I have no idea where the restaurant is so we are now without food.

Thanks for taking time to leave a review - I can imagine it must have been frustrating that the order was declined too late for the payment to be cancelled.

The way the system works is that if an order is cancelled after a certain amount of time it has to finish processing before we can refund it for you. The payment cannot be cancelled halfway.

We understand that it really frustrating for our customers so to mitigate this the funds will remain on your hungryhouse account until 5am so that you can access those funds to re-order.

In this case we would normally try to arrange the restaurant collect the food in exchange for the refund so that they can see exactly what the issue was. Did the agent you spoke to on chat suggest that?

Honestly

Honestly - do not bother, even the CS responding to my complaint below has no idea of the resolution. For your reference, HungryHouse has since acknowledged how abysmal the service is/was and refunded. Contradictory to the below.

If the HH CS team are unable to do/offer anything more than i can do myself, what is the point? You essentially charge for letting us view a menu on the worst places to eat in town.

Lastly - tired of all the fake reviews. Just check google for real reviews.
Also - i would urge anyone to check the ratings of Just-eat HungryHouse establishments. You will find, they all tend to be below 2 stars in the Hygiene area. Not good.

After being a valued customer and…

After being a valued customer and ordering with them consistently I tried a new takeaway and had a really bad experience. The delivery driver smashed a bottle on my doorstep and the food was not edible and stone cold. Having never complained I thought hungry house would refund my money as the food had to go straight in the bin. They offered me 20% off my next order which I did not find acceptable. The customer service element of the company is lacking and they were not receptive to my complaint. They then just sent an automated email saying they will refund me a minor amount and it will be with me in 3-5 days. Not a good way to treat a loyal customer at all!

Curry House don't even use them!!

Ordered a curry quite late, after waiting for ages noticed I had an email saying Cinnamon had cancelled my order. I rang them to ask why, they said they don't even use Just Eat or Hungryhouse...

I have tried the online chat to kick off as we found somewhere else to order from, food turned up at 12:45 at night... well morning, girlfriend was no longer hungry, nor was I and what a waste of £40.

ABSOLUTE JOKE, I was using Just Eat a lot, Hungry House I thought was a gooden because there seemed to be more restaurants then I find out they're one and the same. Not using again, will stick going direct, taxi's or deliveroo, it's not about the money it's about being pi**ed about and even now being misled... the supplier didn't even know they were on the APP.... be careful!

Apologies for the cancelled order you had with one of our partner restaurants, and for the confusion that occurred when you spoke to them.

In situations like this we will take a restaurant offline while we confirm their status and work out what is happening. This sounds like a very peculiar case so I would like to investigate further to ensure that we can sort out things with the restaurant.

Please drop an email to socialmedia@hungryhouse.co.uk with your order ID in so I can take a look at what happened, try resolve the issue with the restaurant and see if we can arrange some compensation for you having to deal with this issue.

Taken over by Just eat and it shows

Taken over by Just eat and it shows. strange how you cant seem to leave poor feedback with some takeaways? used to happen with just eat!? another order not delivered . I could have taken my family to my local restaurant instead of again waiting on an order that would never arrive. Phoned the takeaway and they actually lied to me on the phone. why not jut say sorry and we will sort it! It seems money is the only driver for Hungryhouse not ensuring a good customer experience. will stick to Dominos, kfc and Pizza hut from now on. or I will bypass Hungryhouse altogether and go direct. You seem to get better service.

long wait for takeaway

long wait for takeaway! when arrived its flat cold!!! this has happened on numerous occasions! done..no more will i be doing buisiness with this particular company again! sos its( mother india) been with them 4 as long as i can remember.. always willing to take on mistakes but this is th last straw!!!! my opinion is-because i order online and pay up front i am not a valued customer THEY ALREADY HAVE MY MONEY!!!!!! IF THIS WAS PAYPAL I WOULD GET MY MONEY BK!!
